Smart Interiors is me, Aubrey Pate. I’m the sole proprietor and owner of my interior design studio, which is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. In addition to being a designer, I’m a wife, mother of two and an active member of our community.
One of the many reasons I love my job is I’m able to work across a variety of building types. I’ve designed for residential, healthcare, education, corporate offices and assisted living facilities. I really enjoy a challenge and I’m happy to say my work experience is versatile enough to allow me to take on simple or complex projects. The real reward is collaborating with clients, architects and other design professionals. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to create spaces for all types of different companies, residences and adaptive reuse of historic structures.
I worked with Julie Wait Designs for the first 15 years of my career working on amazing projects throughout Northwest Arkansas. During that time I was also an adjunct instructor at the University of AR in the FJSOA+D Interior Design Department teaching studio courses. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I truly believe I got just as much out of those long studio hours as my students, if not more. The in-depth discussions about concepts, research of precedents and the reviewing and refining of design ideas helped make me a better designer. After 3 years at the University, I went back to full time professional practice. In 2017, I was ready to open my own studio and make a fresh beginning as a small business owner. I am thankful to continue to serve my long time clients as well as welcome new ones. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
